Have you mastered the SKILL of falling?

Hi!

"Brainy What-Why-How"

Your weekly nibble of brain-based tips to help you move and feel great!

🧠

What:

You are SO skilled!

Everything can be thought of as a "skill" -- a skill is simply something that can be refined to do better, by improving your neural pathways.

Why:

Why this matters is because we often have a certain attitude* towards things which are indeed skills, as something that should be avoided: eg falling.

Falling is a skill -- you can refine it to fall better.

You can learn multiple ways to fall.

You can get better at falling

*attitudes are also dependent on neural pathways; they are thought habits, so to speak -- so they can be changed too through repetition of a DIFFERENT attitude.

How:

Step 1) Stop treating falling as something to avoid. Start thinking of it as a skill.

Step 2) Like any skill, start small. Figure out where you are with it. Figure out where your comfort zone ends. Approach the edge of your comfort zone.

Step 3) Keep on increasing your comfort zone; fall from higher kicks up to handstand, fall in new directions.

There's a new workshop on Move With Adell where I take you through the steps to clear your mind, get to know your fear, and learn the skill of falling in three different ways.

Add the skill of falling to your arsenal! Check out the Master the Skill of Falling workshop on Move with Adell

-- and use it in the new yoga flow: 18-minutes Dynamic Shoulders and Wrists Flow.
